Aaron Ramsey has announced his retirement from professional football on social media, saying the decision came after careful consideration.
He described wearing the Wales shirt as a privilege and reflected on many unforgettable moments representing his country. He expressed gratitude to every manager, coach and staff member who supported him throughout his international and club career.
Ramsey paid special tribute to Wales’ supporters — the “Red Wall” — calling them indispensable to the team’s successes, thanking them for standing by the side through highs and lows and saying it was an honour to represent them. Diolch.
He also thanked all the clubs he played for, along with the managers and staff who helped him pursue and achieve his dream of playing at the highest level.
Finally, Ramsey offered heartfelt thanks to his wife, children and wider family, saying their support made everything possible.
