Nov. 13, 2025 — Foxborough, Mass. — The New York Jets visit Gillette Stadium on Thursday night riding a two-game win streak, while the New England Patriots try to extend a seven-game run that would leave them atop the NFL standings.
The teams arrive at opposite points in their seasons: the Jets are 2-7, the Patriots 8-2. Both clubs, however, share a familiar theme — each is being guided again by a former team star-turned-head coach. Aaron Glenn has returned to New York, and Mike Vrabel has taken over the Patriots’ program.
Quarterback storylines are in the spotlight as well. Drake Maye enters the matchup as a leading MVP candidate, and the Jets have stirred controversy after Glenn declined to name a starter in the days before kickoff.
Reporting from Gillette Stadium, Rich Cimini and Mike Reiss will track the game’s biggest moments, key plays and scoring highlights. Rich Cimini covers the Jets for ESPN, has reported on the team for more than 30 years, hosts the Flight Deck podcast and previously worked as a New York Daily News beat writer. Mike Reiss covers the Patriots for ESPN, has followed New England since 1997 and was named Massachusetts Sportswriter of the Year in 2019 by the National Sports Media Association.
