Cameron Norrie reached the Moselle Open semi-finals after surviving a third successive three-set match, beating lucky loser Kyrian Jacquet 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-4.
The world number 27 and the last remaining seed in Metz dropped the opening set after racing to a 4-1 lead, only for Jacquet to mount a late charge. The French world number 156 won five games in a row to take the opener and stayed competitive in the second. Norrie suffered a nosebleed during the match and called for the physio when play resumed at 4-4 in the second set; he saved a break point before taking control in the tie-break.
Jacquet’s 48 unforced errors ultimately cost him, with a break to love at 4-4 in the third allowing Norrie to serve out the victory. The 30-year-old, who has a 30-25 singles record in 2025, is bidding for his first ATP Tour title since the 2023 Rio Open and will face Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego for a place in Saturday’s final.
Meanwhile in Athens, Lorenzo Musetti kept his hopes of reaching the season-ending ATP Finals alive by advancing to the semi-finals. The Italian world number nine, who has not lifted a title in two years, defeated France’s Alexandre Muller 6-2 6-4 and now meets American Sebastian Korda in the last four.
Musetti must win the Athens title to claim the eighth and final spot at the ATP Finals in Turin; if he falls short, Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will take the place. Novak Djokovic, who has already qualified for Turin, is a potential final opponent for Musetti after the Serbian reached the 199th semi-final of his career with a 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 win over Portugal’s Nuno Borges. The 38-year-old Djokovic is chasing a second title this year and the 101st of his career.
