British ice dancers Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson won gold at the NHK Trophy in Osaka, earning their 10th Grand Prix medal. The victory makes them the most decorated British team in the Grand Prix series and qualifies them for the Grand Prix Final in Nagoya in December.
They scored 205.88 points and led the field throughout, with a Spice Girls Rhythm Dance and a Scottish‑inspired Free Dance that drew a roaring reception. Gibson, 31, is from Scotland; Fear, 26, was born in the United States and grew up in London.
The pair have seven British titles and this year took ice dance bronze at the World Championships in Boston, Great Britain’s first World skating medal in more than 40 years. They have not yet been officially selected for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina but have secured a quota spot for Team GB and finished 10th at the 2022 Beijing Games.
Their NHK Trophy success comes ahead of the British Championships, where they are positioned to become the most decorated British pair in history, surpassing Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and Sinead and John Kerr.
