The Denver Broncos ground out a 10-7 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders to remain the NFL’s best team at 8-2.
A tight, low-scoring affair at Mile High Stadium produced just three points in the second half — Wil Lutz’s 32-yard field goal proved decisive — and extended Denver’s winning streak to seven games.
The Broncos struggled to string plays together at times, committing more penalties than they had first downs in the stop-start contest, but still sit atop the AFC West.
Coach Sean Payton said the team must clean up the penalties and tighten execution as they continue their push through the season, calling the current stretch a work in progress as they aim for consistency.
Denver’s defense dominated much of the day, recording six sacks on Raiders quarterback Geno Smith and holding Las Vegas without a first down over seven consecutive drives.
Las Vegas briefly took the lead when Ashton Jeanty scored on a four-yard run, but Troy Franklin answered with an 11-yard touchdown to level the game before Lutz’s field goal decided the outcome. The Raiders’ final drive ended with a missed kick that would have tied the contest; the loss drops Las Vegas to 2-7.
The Broncos, who last reached the Super Bowl in 2015, will look to build on this momentum while addressing the small margins that nearly swung this game the other way.
