A Rising Talent
Currently training at the Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy located in Masab Tank, Atiksh has been under the watchful eye of coach Imran Khan. In just two months, he’s achieved remarkable scores in both under-12 and under-14 competitions. His impressive record includes innings of 101 not out, 56 not out, and 94 not out, showcasing his ability to play under pressure.
Dedication to the Sport
Cricket isn't just a sport for Atiksh; it's a passion that fuels his ambitions. A sixth-grader at Edify World School in Attapur, he’s been involved in competitive cricket since February. A huge fan of MS Dhoni, he strives to better his game with each match he plays. His parents share his enthusiasm, mentioning how his love for cricket ignited from watching live matches with his father at the young age of four.
Not only does Atiksh shine as a batsman, but he also excels as an off-spin bowler. To date, he has taken 63 wickets across 130 matches while accumulating around 1,700 runs, making him a well-rounded player.
First Steps and Future Goals
Atiksh made an impressive debut in competitive cricket, claiming five wickets for just nine runs in his inaugural official match, earning him the 'Best Bowler' accolade. His sights are set high; over the next three years, he aims to enhance his skills and fitness, aspiring to represent his state and, eventually, the country.
“The journey involves focusing on physical fitness, mental strength, teamwork, and leadership skills. Discipline and determination are key,” he noted, expressing gratitude towards his school's administration for their support in nurturing his cricket aspirations.
More Than Just Cricket
Outside of cricket, Atiksh is also an avid football fan. In a standout moment in 2021, he earned the opportunity to be an FC Barcelona Junior Virtual Mascot, being one of only ten selected globally for a home game at Camp Nou against Getafe. His video message was showcased on the stadium’s big screen, highlighting his enthusiasm for sport.
Despite these accomplishments in football, Atiksh is firmly focused on achieving greatness in cricket. With a commendable work ethic and unwavering support from his family, coaches, and school, he’s ready to tackle the challenges ahead in his quest to excel.
